A Specialty Salad

It has been raining all day. Last night, too. It doesn't happen too often where I live in Colorado.
After finishing up with afternoon clients (two dogs and one bird today) I sat down with a cup of tea and listened to the rain outside. I invited James to share his thoughts with me.
James muses:
"I like the rain. It brings a freshness to things. I love the pitter patter. The sound is soothing. It invites deep rest in a way that the sun does not. The hot sun can make me sleepy, and I love dozing in the warm sun. But the rain-- it is elemental. And it recharges the system in the way only it can. Rain is fairly rare here. My pasture grass is loving it. I love eating the little green sprigs of new grass with raindrops on them. The rain makes them taste more like a delicacy. It is what you humans would akin to a tiny specialty salad at a fancy restaurant, perhaps? Anyway, I have been delighting in this rain. It is recharging my soul. There's healing power for the soul in the sound of rain just like there's healing in listening to little birds. I'm very much at peace today. The whole herd is well."
Love, James
I remember James once saying, probably over a decade ago: "The rain is like God raining down on me." He was expressing how much he loved the rain then.
