ABOUT WORKSHOP
This workshop is a special opportunity to practice and embody the essence of
yin through a retreat-like experiential study of Yin Yoga. Designed for beginners
and teachers alike, all levels are welcome!
Yin Yoga is a deeply nourishing and restorative practice for the nervous system,
offering a peaceful and rejuvenating calm for our entire being. Yin Yoga targets
our connective tissue, particularly the fascia of the hips, pelvis and lower spine.
As we gently release our stories and past traumas stored in the body, we
increase flexibility and open ourselves to joy. This retreat invites us to practice
being fully present as we relax into deep sensation.
In this immersion we will explore the physical and energetic aspects of Yin Yoga, including understanding of Yin asanas, proper sequencing, use of props, and the effects of the asanas on our emotional, mental, physical, spiritual and subtle bodies. Exploration of fascia, breath, chakras, and our meridian system will be offered in this soul-nourishing weekend.
The retreat was wonderful. I still feel nurtured, nourished, and supported.

I found the weekend very helpful for both my own practice and for my teaching. It was insightful and well rounded. Unlike other workshops I’ve done, yours flowed so nicely and was both relaxing and inspiring. Thank you for offering your knowledge and experience!

“Asha presented the material in an engaging, informative, concise way that held my attention. Practicing the theory behind the lecture was helpful to integrate all of the information. She was very knowledgeable, open to questions, and a true light. She is a great resource for yoga students and teachers, and we are lucky to have her here."

“I want to thank you for the amazing Applied Anatomy workshop – it has literally transformed the way that I teach. After your workshop I see the bodies of my yoga students differently. Small details which before I didn’t acknowledge, I am now able to see and articulate so that I can help my students better align a pose. I also am able to more clearly differentiate between misalignment which has the opportunity for correction and bodies that are at their edge as they discover the pose. I assist with greater knowledge of how my suggestion will affect the entire body. I find that I spend a lot of time at people’s feet! I am offering suggestions to advanced students which light up their poses and teach them something new about their bodies. I’m much more comfortable doing what I always wanted to do which was talk about energy movement because after your class I am confident in how REAL it really is. I am more present as an instructor. My classes are more challenging and more safe. My students are more focused and their savasanas obviously have more depth.”

“Thank you again for your wonderful workshop. Time flew by. Your well considered approach of “lecturing” on various anatomical subjects then leading us through asanas to highlight them, brought a complex subject to light. The whole weekend helped illuminate yoga’s key physical and energetic lines through an anatomical filter. I loved it."
