If Horses Could Roll Their Eyes They Would.

"Hey Buds," I said to James while he was eating his grain. "Are you ready to deliver some words of wisdom to everyone?"

This was James' reply:

"Go slow. Watch and observe everything. There is much to be learned from observation. It's a trait many humans lack. Most humans are too busy talking. And, just too dang busy. Equestrians, too. It gets in the way of true partnership with us. Equestrians say they want to partner with us. But, they have no idea how to partner! They are too busy with their bodies to ever listen to what we are saying. True partnership is listening. Listening and then sometimes leading by following.

You (James was referring to me here) have said that in regards to your work, and I know that you believe that with horses, too. You said:

'Sometimes the best way to lead is to follow.'

And, that requires listening. I watch the folks ride from where I stand in the pasture. I study them. Most of the people have it wrong, even though they try really hard. If horses could roll their eyes, they would. But, we're good sports about it. We know humans are trying, and we are here to help them. We mostly feel sorry for humans. Us horses- we like our intellect, our wisdom, and our physical awareness. We love being horses. The entire world could use some horse medicine. We're medicine for the soul. That's why so many people are drawn to horses.

People can lead, and we will follow. We're mostly wired that way. But, learn to follow us and we will take you back to yourself, back to your wisdom, and to your magic. You've just forgotten. We're here to help you remember."

Love, James

Then James said to me with joy and a playful pride: "He, he. That was a good message, wasn't it?!"

I always love how free James is to feel good about himself and to hold pride. There is no arrogance. He's just comfortable and confident. He knows who he is.

And he's candid.
